Converted from a riverside cottage in 1982, the Old Bridge Inn sits on the banks of the famous River Spey.

At first just a simple pub, these days we  are a destination for locals and visitors where they can find delicious food, a thoughtfully stocked bar, first rate live music & DJs as well as a range of comfortable accommodation.

Along the way we have picked up some accolades and awards, but our greatest pleasure comes from being able to host our guests in this incredible part of the world.

Have a look at what we do and come and be part of our story.

Aviemore's gourmet kitchen party

Lunch served: 12-2.30 every day

Dinner served: 6-9 every day

We take our food seriously at The Old Bridge Inn, but not ourselves.  We use the best produce available to us, naturally, with a localised leaning, striving to create new and delicious combinations for you, but we're pretty relaxed about the whole thing.

Walking around Aviemore, the town is awash with mountain bikes and 4x4s, Goretex and Primaloft.  You'll find the business district hard to locate here.  The fashion mile harder still.  That doesn't mean the people lack style and taste.  On the contrary, the pretentiousness and anxious pursuit of next-level-cool that surrounds so many UK cities, is totally absent in Aviemore and The Cairngorms.  This sets our little part of the country aside, meaning visitors can feel totally relaxed and be themselves.

Yet while the briefcase, laptop and suit may have been left at home before travelling North - and who knows, maybe you did pack that Prada dress, we applaud you - taste buds are less detachable, as is an inherit enjoyment in a beautifully presented plate of food, a glass of fine wine and knowing passionate and friendly people will be looking after you.

Our restaurant is a cosy, candle-lit affair, recently re-furbished using a mix of soft contemporary furnishings and antique lighting; charred wooden wall panelling and Scandinavian style exposed beams.  A mix of local landscape artwork and more abstract pieces, some old highland house-hold items and a bird and a fur or two hang from the walls.

All are welcome, whether in your hiking boots or stilettos, young or old.  We also have a seasonally changing menu (with vegan options) and a small kids menu too.  Huge groups we're not quite so keen on, as our food is not meant for mass production, nor our atmosphere for karaoke.  But we will be happy to accommodate you, if we can and you play ball with us too.

Food is also served in our more rustic lounge, by the wood-burning stove, where we allow dogs too.

Outside, we serve lunch, but not dinner. Our evening menu doesn’t lend itself to this and logistically we can’t run back and forth down to the river to clear plates and run food.

We always recommend booking, as we are often very busy.

Why did we want to run a pub?  Well, it would be a little far-fetched to suggest it wasn't something to do with our love of booze.  Wine tastings, stocking the back bar, visiting distilleries and experimenting with cocktails.  It's all very much kid in a sweet shop material.

So we hope you like what we've chosen for you.  Each of our drinks, are, literally, tried and tested (multiple times).

We also have over 100 malt whiskies, which as good as choose themselves, from every corner of Scotland and indeed the world.  Too many to talk about here.  You should really just spend a night at the bar.

Reservations...please note that table reservation requests cannot always be answered immediately, if your request is urgent, it's always best to give us a call.
