Eat, drink, and stay by the River Spey

The Old Bridge Inn (OBI) sits on the banks of the River Spey in Aviemore — a Highland gastro pub with heart, history, and a love for good times. Housed in an old gamekeeper’s cottage, it’s a gathering place for locals, travellers, and outdoor folk to share great food, whisky, and live music. Next door, the OBI Bunkhouse offers warm, comfortable stays for those looking to rest up after a day on the hill or a night by the fire. Whether you’re here for the food, the tunes, or the adventure, OBI is where stories are shared and memories made.

STAY

Aviemore's gourmet kitchen party

We take our food seriously at The Old Bridge Inn—but not ourselves. With a local focus, we use the best produce available to create both contemporary and classic dishes from around the world.

Walk through Aviemore and you’ll see mountain bikes and 4x4s, Gore-Tex and Primaloft. The business district is hard to find here—the fashion mile even harder. But that doesn’t mean the people lack taste.

Freed from the chase for the latest trend that defines so many cities, Aviemore and the Cairngorms are next-level relaxed. The Old Bridge Inn fits right in: laid-back, memorable, and driven by a genuine love for what we do.

Cosy tables in The Lounge

Both our lounge (wood burning stove / dogs allowed) and dining room are cosy, candle-lit spaces, with a mix of contemporary furnishings and antique lighting, wooden wall panelling and exposed beams.  Local artwork, some old highland household items, a stuffed bird and a fur or two hang from the walls.

All are welcome, whether in your hiking boots or stilettos, young or old, resident or passing through.  We have a seasonally changing menu (with varied vegan options) and a small kids menu too.  Huge groups we're not quite so keen on, as our food is not meant for mass production, nor our atmosphere for karaoke.  But we will be happy to accommodate you if we can (and you play ball with us too).

No cocktail list, but we do all the classics.

We like: Old Fashioned, Negroni, Espresso Martini, Margerita, Whisky Sour etc.
