Parr Knowledge

If anyone is interested in discussing any topic under the sun, then the one and only David Parr is available most Thursday evenings from 10pm.

The Old Bridge Inn bar area.

Jopps, as she is affectionately known after a lengthy spell in Greece studying turtles (or was it turtle head's) has returned to Bridge of Allan to work in the Old Bridge Inn. Her wonderful accent, a blend of Geordie and Greek, known as Gobbly Geek, brings a pleasant joyfulness to the surroundings. It is rumoured that her ambitions include breeding pigs, building a humungous Scalextrix track, and grow all sorts of wonderful crops with The Black Isler.

Signs of a Foreign Recovery.

The person who removed the sign from the top of the road will be delighted to know that an e-mail received from Takka D. Michael informed me that it had been recovered from the shores of the Sarki Fijord, 150 miles North of Bergen in Norway.

The good news is he has booked an evening for 50 Norge students who are studying at Heriot-Watt University to celebrate their National Day Celebrations.

Thank you.

All Because the Lady loves Milk Tray.

Local painter and decorator, Mr. Geoff Heggie(painter to the famous, no job too small), although still recovering from the slur over the alleged smuggling of broccoli into Turkey (not proven) celebrates his 1st anniversary of courting local girl, Anne.

On Tuesday 8th January she relucantly turned down the chance to see her team, St. Johnstone, play against Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup to enjoy a romantic meal for 2 in the newly established IL Ponte in Bridge of Allan.

Congratulations to you both. At first it was lust, and perhaps it still is lust.

(Heggie, before his lady decided to go out with him.)

Ladies Darts
The Old Bridge Inn ladies darts team continue to perform well in the Stirling Ladies Darts League Div. 2. Although their current league position cannot be confirmed accurately, they are said to be very handily placed. Tuesday is their night for playing, and is it coincidental that the team members of Margaret, Mary, Mhairi, Mandy, Marie, Janny(the granny), Lorraine and I've forgotton her name, are to be congratulated on their performances in the first part of the 2001/2002 season. Good luck for the second half.

Wee Bobby
is recovering well, but hasn't been seen since Hogmanay, so we hope all is well.
